Resetting the ink counter

The ink counter keeps track of how much ink is left in the ink tanks allowing the machine to
warn you when ink is running low. It also allows you to check the current ink level of the ink
tanks at any time.
When you replace an ink tank, the LCD will automatically prompt you to reset the ink counter.
However, if for any reason you did not reset the ink counter when replacing the ink tanks,
follow this procedure to reset it.
Please note that if you do not reset the ink counter after replacing an ink tank, the low ink
warning will not display properly and you will not be able to check the ink level as explained
in Checking the ink level, below.

Use [2] or [3] to select <INK COUNT RESET>.

If you replaced the black ink tank, press [2]. If you did not, press [3].

If you replaced the color ink tank, press [2]. If you did not, press [3].
• The ink counter is now reset. To check the ink level of the ink tanks at any time,
see below.

Checking the ink level

If you reset the ink counter when you installed/replaced the ink tanks, you can check the
current ink level as follows:

Press [Menu] repeatedly until <INK VOLUME> is displayed.
Ex:

Press [Set].
• The LCD shows the current ink level.
: Approx. 100 % to 30 % full
: Approx. 30 % full
: 0 % (empty)
?: Ink counter not reset
–: The <LOW INK WARNING> setting is off.
