Clearances to combustible mantels vary according to mantel depth (Figure 7).
Mantels constructed of non-combustible material may be installed at any height above the appliance opening; however, do
NOT allow anything to hang below the top edge of the fireplace door.
Minimum clearance requirements include any projections such as shelves, window sills, mantels, etc. above the
fireplace.
NOTE: To avoid heat-related finish damage, we recommend the use of high temperature paint (rated 175° F or higher) on
the underside of the mantel.
NOTE: The factory-supplied non-combustible fiberboard MUST be installed above the fireplace opening.

INSTALLATION PREPARATION

The fireplace is shipped with all gas controls and components installed and pre-wired. Before installing the fireplace,
follow these steps:
1. Remove and retain the shipping carton.
2. Confirm receipt of required items listed in Packaging on Page 8.
3. Retrieve the non-combustible fiberboard from behind the fireplace, and set aside in a safe location for later
4. If not already done, remove the glass door (Page 58), and set aside in a secure location for later reinstallation.
5. Remove the modesty panel. Set aside in a secure location for later installation.
