2 Safety Precautions and Working Techniques
If the connecting cord is damaged,
immediately disconnect the plug from
the wall outlet to avoid the risk of
electric shock.
Receptacles of extension cords must be splash-
proof.
To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not
operate your power tool if it is damaged or not
properly assembled!

Holding and guiding the
machine
Always hold the unit firmly with both hands –
right hand on the handle housing, left hand on
the drive tube – even if you are left-handed.
Wrap your fingers and thumbs around the handle
housing and drive tube to maintain good control
of the unit.
Make sure you always have good balance and
secure footing.

In case of imminent danger or in an emergency,
switch off the motor immediately and disconnect
the plug from the wall outlet.

To reduce the risk of damage, be sure that the
saw chain is clear of all obstructions and objects,
including the ground, before switching on.
2.5.1
Caution!
This power tool is not insulated. Keep
at least 15 m away from electric
power lines – Danger of fatal electric
shock!
15m (50ft)
Do not allow other persons within a radius of
15 m of your own position due to falling branches
and ejected wood particles – Risk of injury!
This distance must also be maintained in relation
to objects (vehicles, window panes) – risk of
property damage!
Keep the bar nose at least 15 m away from elec‐
tric power lines . Electric current may also arc
over from high-voltage cables at greater dis‐
tance. Have the power switched off before start‐
ing work in the immediate vicinity of power lines.
To reduce the risk of injury, switch off the engine
before changing the saw chain!
Use your electric pole pruner only for the purpo‐
ses described in the instruction manual.
The drive motor is not waterproof. To
reduce the risk of a short circuit or
electrocution, never work with the
electric pole pruner in the rain or in
wet or very damp locations.
Do not leave the pole pruner outdoors in the rain.
Never jerk the power cord to disconnect it from
the wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the
cord!
