    • The device must be operated by persons authorised and trained by the facility's owner-operator. Strict compliance with the instructions in the Operating Instruction is mandatory. • Endress+Hauser is willing to assist in clarifying the chemical resistance properties of parts wetted by special fluids, including fluids used for cleaning. However small changes in temperature, concentration or the degree of contamination in the process can result in changes of the chemical resistance properties.

  • Page 12: Installation Conditions

Installation Proline t-mass 65 PROFIBUS DP Installation conditions Note the following points: • The thermal dispersion principle is very sensitive to low flow rates and disturbed flow conditions. • Observe the recommended inlet and outlet requirements. • Good engineering practice is necessary for the associated pipe work and installation.
  • Page 13: Orientation

Proline t-mass 65 PROFIBUS DP Installation 3.2.3 Orientation The device can generally be installed in any position in the piping. In the case of wet/dirty gases, upward flow is prefered in vertical pipes to minimise condensation/contamination. Where free condensation can occur (e.g. Biogas) the sensor should be orientated to prevent water collecting on or around the transducer.

Installation Proline t-mass 65 PROFIBUS DP Vertical alignment It is important that the sensor mounting boss is welded to the pipe or duct such that the sensor is mounted at 90 degrees to the flow direction. Commissioning Proline t-mass 65 PROFIBUS DP PROFIBUS DP acyclic data transmission Acyclic data transmission is used to transmit parameters during commissioning or maintenance, or to display additional measured variables that are not included in data transmission. Thus parameters for identification, control or adjustment in the various blocks (physical block, transducer block, function block) can be changed while the device is in the process of data transmission with a PLC.
  • Page 67: Adjustment

Proline t-mass 65 PROFIBUS DP Commissioning Adjustment 6.8.1 Zero point adjustment At zero flow conditions, the output of most thermal mass flow devices has a strong dependency on the process pressure. The effect on the true zero point of the device, by the static line pressure, is dependant on the gas type and the application demands and in many cases the use of the low flow cut-off function is adequate to zero the device output.
  • Page 68: Data Storage Device (Historom)

The zero point adjustment is now reset. Data storage device (HistoROM) At Endress+Hauser, the term HistoROM refers to various types of data storage modules on which process and measuring device data are stored. By plugging and unplugging such modules, device configurations can be duplicated onto other measuring devices to cite just one example.
