The 5ST3 COM auxiliary switch / fault signal contact communicates the status of the installed
device. Thus, it distinguishes between a manual shutdown and a tripping operation due to
error. The manual shutdown is displayed in the device overview and in the switching cycle
counter. In the event of a tripping operation, this is also displayed in the trip counter and as a
message. However, the reason for the tripping operation cannot be captured. Due to a
separate power supply, the auxiliary switch / fault signal contact can also communicate with
the operating lever in the Off position.
Communication is not possible if the 5SL6 COM miniature circuit breaker and 5SV6 COM arc
fault detection device are switched off. If the switches are switched mechanically, the
switching cycle counter increases but not the trip counter, no separate message is generated
for this. During a tripping operation, a trip message is generated and communicated.
Furthermore, the corresponding trip counters are increased.
Note
It is possible that the trip messages are no longer transmitted or received by the
7KN Powercenter 1000 in time before the 5SL6 COM miniature circuit breaker and 5SV6 COM
arc fault detection device are switched off. Particularly in the case of short-circuits, where the
circuit protection devices have to respond quickly.
A trip message cannot be transmitted if a short-circuit is still present and the circuit
protection device is switched on during this time. This leads to the immediate shutdown
before communication can be established.
After reclosing the devices and a successful connection establishment the tripping operation
must first be confirmed. The tripping operation is displayed as active in the device overview
of the app until it has been confirmed with a short button press. If the message could not be
sent or received on time before the tripping operation, this will certainly be subsequently
displayed under the messages. The details of the trip message contain other information such
as time or the measured values that were most recently captured before the tripping
operation.
