ASCII Alarm Messages

2-OK Status
The following messages are sent to an ASCII terminal/printer when the ASCII
Alarm Messages configuration option is set to COM Port ( Path: main/config/
alarm), or when the async terminal is inactive (logged off). When set, an alarm is
sent at the start of an alarm condition. An Alarm Cleared message is sent when
the alarm condition no longer exists.
NOTE:
When more than one alarm condition is detected, only the highest priority
message will be sent; other alarm conditions could exist.
Example:
When a 04/10/97 10:26:32 – Frame Relay DLCI number 201 is down on the
Port-1 Interface message is reported, you could also have a Primary or
Secondary Clock Source Failure, as well.
All messages in the following table are listed in order of priority. Each message is
preceded by the name of the access unit ( Device Name), up to 20 characters
( Path: main/control/device name), as well as the date and time that the message
was generated in the month/day/year hour:minute:second ( mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss )
format.

Color What It Means
Green ON – The interchange circuits for the port
are in the correct state to transmit and
receive data.
OFF – The port is idle. Occurs if the port is
disabled, or if the port is configured to
monitor DTR and/or RTS and the
lead(s) is not asserted.
What It Indicates
A power supply problem
is detected on the
system.
Alarm condition no
longer exists.
What To Do
1. Check that the power supply
is mounted correctly in the
housing.
2. Contact your service
representative.
No action needed.
