Megohmmeter Part No. 241079 (AB in Figure 22)
is not approved for use in a hazardous location.
To reduce the risk of sparking, do not use the
megohmmeter to check electrical grounding
unless:
• The gun has been removed from the hazardous
location;
• Or all spraying devices in the hazardous
location are turned off, ventilation fans in the
hazardous location are operating, and there are
no flammable vapors in the location (such as
open solvent containers or fumes from spraying).
Failure to follow this warning could cause fire,
explosion, and electric shock and result in serious
injury.
Graco Part No. 241079 Megohmmeter (AB) is
available as an accessory to check that the gun is
properly grounded.
1. Have a qualified electrician check the electrical
grounding continuity of the spray gun and air
hose.
2. Turn off the electrostatics.
3. Turn off the air and fluid supply to the gun. Follow
the
Pressure Relief Procedure, page
fluid hose must be empty.
4. Purge the fluid hose with air, if needed.
5. Make sure the red-colored grounded air hose
(HG) is connected and the hose ground wire is
connected to a true earth ground.
