PARKING BRAKE PEDAL (12:B)

Never partially press the pedal while
driving.
There is a risk of overheating the power
transmission.
Il The pedal (12:B) has the following three positions:
Released: Traction is engaged. The
parking brake is not activated.
Pressed to halfway: Forward drive disen-
gaged. The parking brake is not activated.
Pressed right down. Forward drive disengaged.
The parking brake is fully activated but not locked.
This position is also used as an emergency brake.
6.3
PARKING BRAKE LOCKING LEVER
(12:C)
The lever locks the "brake" pedal in the
pressed right down position. This function
is used to lock the machine on slopes, du-
ring transport, etc., when the engine is not running.
Locking:
1. Press the pedal (12:B) right down.
2. Move the locking lever (12:C) to the right.
3. Release the pedal (12:B).
4. Release the locking lever (12:C).
Unlocking:
1. Press and release the pedal (10:B).
6.4

TRACTION PEDAL (12:D)

The pedal determines the gearing ratio between
the engine and the drive wheels (= the speed).
When the pedal is released, the service brake is
activated.
- Press the pedal forward – the
machine moves forward.
- No load on the pedal – the machi-
ne is stationary.
- Press the pedal backward – the
machine reverses.
- Reduce the pressure on the pedal – the machine
brakes.
A plate is installed on the upper section of the pe-
dal which can be adjusted to suit the driver's foot.
If the machine does not brake as ex-
pected when the pedal is released, the
left pedal (12:B) should be used as an
emergency brake.

THROTTLE AND CHOKE CONTROL
[B&S POWER Built] [B&S Intek] (if pro-
vided) (12:E)
A control for regulating the engine speed and
using the choke when starting the engine in cold
conditions.
If the engine runs unevenly (alternate
variation in the number of engine revs)
the control may be too far forward, thus
activating the choke. This damages the
engine, increases fuel consumption
and is harmful to the environment.
Choke – for starting the engine in cold
conditions. Do not use this position when
the engine is warm.
Full throttle – should always be used when
the machine is in use. The full throttle posi-
tion is approximately 2 cm behind the choke
position.
Idling.
Some models are equipped with a sy-
stem that automatically controls the
choke position in the carburettor du-
ring engine ignition and heating.
6.6
CHOKE CONTROL [B&S Vanguard] [ST.]
(if provided) (12:G)
Control for using the choke in the case of a cold start.
The control is extended fully (12:G1) - the
butterfly valve is closed. For use when the
engine is cold.
The control is pushed back (12:G2) - the butterfly
valve is open. For use when the engine is warm
and during operation.
When the motor is hot, do not use the
choke.
Some models are equipped with a sy-
stem that automatically controls the
choke position in the carburettor du-
ring engine ignition and heating.
6.7

IGNITION /HEADLIGHT BLOCK (12:F)

The ignition block is used for starting and stopping
the engine.
