Configuring Subnet Parameters

Virtual Subnets for ANGs in a site-to-site configuration are employed for
terminating ANGs only. They are used to create pools of IP addresses which
the ANG distributes to connecting ANGs for Aurorean Virtual Network site-
to-site tunnels. If you are setting up an initiating ANG, skip to "Configuring
Name Server Parameters" on page 73.
To set the Virtual Subnet parameters of the ANG, perform the following steps:
Aurorean Installation & Service Guide
3
Enter an IP address for the Gateway router to which the ANG will
connect. This IP address must be on the same subnet as the external
interface of the ANG.
4
In the Reachable Subnet fields, type a starting IP Address and
Subnet Mask to define a subnet.
Packets received by the ANG are statically routed to the gateway you
specify. To forward all packets to the gateway where there is no
reachable "next hop" address for a packet, enter an address of 0.0.0.0
and a subnet mask of 0.0.0.0.
5
Click Add Static Route.
1
Click on the Subnets main menu option.
The Virtual Subnets Configuration window appears as shown in
Figure 50.
