Installing Software & Setting Networking Configurables
Aurorean Installation & Service Guide
7
Specify the Internet Domain Name to be used throughout your
corporate network.
To prevent possible communication problems, verify that the
combination of the Hostname and Domain Name is unique and
"fully-qualified" (not already in use within your domain). Domain
names should follow standard practices of period separators.
8
In the Trusted area of the General window, specify the IP address you
want to assign to the trusted interface.
The trusted interface should be connected to a protected network
segment (behind a firewall or router to ensure security).
9
Set the Subnet Mask of the trusted interface.
The default value is 255.255.255.0.
10 Configure the IP address you want for the Trusted Default Gateway.
This is the IP address of a router that can forward packets from the
ANG's trusted port to other subnets. It must be on the same subnet as
the internal interface of the ANG.
CAUTION
The IP Address specified here is used only as a temporary parameter to
aid a local ANG in finding an APS on the network. To permanently
specify a default route to the gateway, as well as set other routing values,
refer to "Configuring the Remote ANG-3000/7000" on page 65. It is
unnecessary to set a default gateway value for a remote ANG because
that ANG does not access an APS.
11 In the External area of the General window, set the IP address you
want to assign to the external interface.
The external interface can be connected to a network segment that
resides outside a firewall with unfiltered access to the Internet. You
must create a static route between the External interface and the
router that serves as the gateway to the Internet. You cannot enable
RIP or OSPF on this interface.
12 Set the Subnet Mask of the external interface.
The default value is 255.255.255.0.
