2 Insert the power cord into a power outlet.
A 3-pin plug is attached to the power cord provided with your printer. One of these pins is the ground wire.
If the power outlet that you plan to use is a 3-pin type, simply insert the power plug as is.

Connecting the Interface Cable
The interface differs according to the options that you have
selected.
Use a cable that is compatible with the respective
standard.
• Parallel interface board (IEEE 1284)
• Serial interface board (RS-232C)
• USB interface board
• LAN interface board
Make sure that the cable is correctly oriented.
Secure the printer with one hand, and insert the cable
firmly.
Connecting the Keypad (Simple Input Device)
This section explains optional simple input device connection procedures.
1 Confirm that the power of the printer is off.
2 Use one hand to hold the printer and firmly insert the connector.
Make sure that the orientation of the connector is correct.
