First let's crea te the funda menta l sound...
1 . Select a voice tha t you don't m ind w riting
over.
Perfo rm a T ype 1 (N o rmal) Vo ice Initialize o peratio n.
2 . Set up the ba sic cha ra cteristics of the electric
pia no.
Press KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch [VCO 1 ], then
press CO N TRO L kno b 4 o nce to display the Edg e
parameter in the L CD. T urn the kno b to set a value o f
abo ut " 5 0 " to smo o th o ut the so und.
Press KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch [SYN C/ FM].
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 1 to set the Alg o rithm
parameter to " Sync+FMbth" , which enables the sync
and applies FM to bo th master and slave o scillato rs
o f VCO 1 .
NOTE
Other settings ( except for " only FM" ) will also produce effective results.
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 2 to set the Sync Pitch
parameter to a value o f abo ut " +3 3 " . The so und will
beco me very tinny.
3 . Set up the VCO 2 to fill out the sound.
Press KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch [VCO 2 ], then
press CO N TRO L kno b 4 o nce to display the Edg e
parameter in the L CD. T urn the kno b to set a value o f
abo ut " 5 0 " .
Press KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch [MIX/ VCF],
then press CO N TRO L kno b 2 to display the VCO 2
L evel parameter in the L CD. T urn the kno b to set a
value o f abo ut " 1 2 7 " in o rder to hear the VCO 2 .
4 . Fine-tune the AEG a nd VCA velocity
sensitivity.
Press KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch [VCA].
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 3 to set the Sustain parameter
to a value o f " 0 " .
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 2 to set the Decay parameter
to a value o f abo ut " 8 3 " .
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 8 to set the Vel Sens (Velo city
Sensitivity) parameter to abo ut " +3 0 " , to increase the
sensitivity level.
5 . Fine-tune the FEG Susta in a nd Deca y
pa ra m eters.
Press KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch [VCF].
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 3 to set the Sustain parameter
to a value o f abo ut " 4 0 " .
• T urn CO N TRO L kno b 2 to set the Decay parameter
to a value o f abo ut " 8 5 " .
6 . Set the VCF cutoff for a m ellow EP sound.
In the [VCF] g ro up, turn CO N TRO L kno b 5 to set the
VCF Cuto ff parameter to a value o f abo ut " 7 0 " .
7 . Set the velocity senstivity of the filter.
In the [VCF] g ro up, turn CO N TRO L kno b 8 to set the
Vel Sens (Velo city Sensitivity) to a value o f abo ut
" +4 0 " . This lets yo u bring o ut the hig hs with g reater
playing streng th.
8 . W iden the sound w ith a chorus effect.
Set the [EDIT RO T ARY] kno b to the VO ICE CO MMO N
menu. Press Vari EF Dry:W et [UP/ DO W N ] and set a
value o f abo ut " D<W 1 0 " . (Cho rus 1 is already set as
the current Variatio n Effect.)
9 . Apply reverbera tion to the sound.
In the VO ICE CO MMO N menu, press Dly/ Rev EF
Param [UP/ DO W N ] to display " Rev Return" in the
L CD. Press Data [UP/ DO W N ] to set a value o f abo ut
" 2 0 " .

Set the [EDIT RO T ARY] switch to the VO ICE SCEN E
SETUP menu.
• Press Set N o [UP/ DO W N ] to display " Set 1 " in the
L CD.
• Press Param [UP/ DO W N ] to display " AEG Decay"
in the L CD.
• Press So urce [UP/ DO W N ] to display " KyTrk" (Key
Track) in the L CD.
• Press Depth [UP/ DO W N ] to set a value o f " Dp+ 9 " .
