Situation
With cruise control "set" and a
vehicle is present (in range) ahead.
With cruise control "set", the vehicle
ahead slows moderately.
With cruise control "set", the vehicle
ahead slows rapidly.
Cruise control is not "on", or not
"set", the vehicle ahead slows
rapidly.
With cruise control "set", but no
vehicle ahead detected (vehicles
in front of you are further than 500
feet ahead of your vehicle).
With the cruise control "set", a
vehicle cuts in front of the truck and
speeds away.
With cruise control "set", a vehicle
cuts in front of the truck within
range of the sensor and slows
down.
With cruise control set, the vehicle
goes down a steep grade.
With cruise set, a faster vehicle
passes on the left or right.
A broken-down vehicle is stationary
in the lane in which the truck is
traveling.
A deer runs in front of the truck.
Another vehicle crosses the road
perpendicular to the truck's path of
travel – such as at an intersection.

System Indication/Alerts
Depending on the vehicle manufacturer, the
cruise control "on" indicator and the "Target
Detected Icon" both will be illuminated.
The system may alert the driver with the
Following Distance Alert (FDA).
The Following Distance Alert (fast beeping)
is given, and may be followed by the Impact
Alert (continuous modulating tone), and a text
message appears on the dash screen.
The Following Distance Alert is given: fast
beeping sound.
None.
If the vehicle cuts in front of the truck at a
distance of 1/2 second or 15 feet or less, a
fast beeping warning is given until the vehicle
ahead is beyond the 15 feet range.
If the vehicle cuts in more than 15 feet or 1/2
second in front of your vehicle, no warning is
given.
The system alerts using the Following
Distance Alert (fast beeping) .
Depending on how rapidly the vehicle ahead
slows, the system may initiate an Impact Alert.
If the brakes remain applied for an extended
duration, the "Brake Overuse" warning will
appear on the dash display.

WINGMAN
ACB will help the driver to maintain the set
speed and following distance.
The vehicle will be slowed by (in order) (a)
reducing throttle, (b) engaging the engine
retarder, or (c) applying the foundation brakes.

ACB cancels after the event. The
driver needs to "resume" to reengage cruise
control.
The vehicle will be de-throttled, the engine
retarder engaged and the foundation brakes

Vehicle maintains "set" speed.
ACB reduces the throttle and retards the engine;

engine retarder, followed by braking. If the
brakes remain on for an extended duration, the
dash display warns the driver and ACB may be
disabled. See "ACB Brake Overuse Warning"
section in this manual.
