Maintenance

The Separation Module and the Feed Roller Assembly in your scanner are
designed to make document feeding smooth. After usage for a period of time,
the Separation Module and Feed Rollers may become worn out, and problems
such as document double-feed may occur. In this case, check either the
Separation Module or the Feed Roller Assembly, and replace them if needed.
Follow the procedure below for replacement of the Separation Module Assembly
and Feed Roller Assembly.

Replacing the Separation Module Assembly

1. Push the Release button to open the ADF cover as shown in the graph.

2. To take out the old Separation Module Assembly, with the cover opened,

Locate the Separation Module Assembly at the top of the inner side of the
ADF cover.
a) press the tab at the top of the Separation Module backward with your
fingers; b) then, hold two sides of the Separation Module and pull it out from
its compartment.
