Advanced Print Features

1. From an application F F i i l l e e menu, select P P r r i i n n t t .
2. With C C a a n n o o n n S S 5 5 0 0 0 0 as the selected printer, click P P r r o o p p e e r r t t i i e e s s . The S500
Properties window will open to the Main tab.
3. Select the appropriate M M e e d d i i a a
T T y y p p e e from the drop-down
menu.
4. Each media type has a default
quality, but you can select a
different P P r r i i n n t t Q Q u u a a l l i i t t y y :
H H i i g g h h For high quality when
printing a color document.
S S t t a a n n d d a a r r d d For high quality
when printing text.
D D r r a a f f t t For printing text drafts
at a faster speed.
C C u u s s t t o o m m Allows for more precise control.
If you select C C u u s s t t o o m m , the Set button becomes active. Click S S e e t t to open the
Set Print Quality dialog box. There are two features you can control:
P P r r i i n n t t Q Q u u a a l l i i t t y y The printer driver
provides five settings for custom
print quality, ranging from F F a a s s t t
at the far left (prints at 600 dpi,
which means faster printing and
less ink) to F F i i n n e e , which prints at
2400 x 1200 dpi.
H H a a l l f f t t o o n n i i n n g g This controls the
pattern in which the ink is laid
down during printing for
graphic images.
5. When done, click O O K K .
