This document gives instructions for locating and clearing faults. The
procedures in this document are based on the assumption that the Meridian 1
is properly installed (for example, all card locations, option switch settings,
and cable connections are correct) and was fully operational before the fault.
To use this document, you should have a basic knowledge of Meridian 1
operation and maintenance. (Contact Northern Telecom Training Centers for
information on courses.) You should also read and fully understand
Meridian 1 general maintenance information (553-3001-500) before
attempting to clear faults.
This document does not provide procedures for replacing equipment. See
Meridian 1 hardware replacement (553-3001-520) to replace faulty
equipment.
