To clean off dirt and mud deposited from painted surfaces, soften caked dirt with a
low-pressure water jet. Sponge off using a car body sponge soaked in a car body
shampoo and water solution (2 - 4% parts of shampoo in water). Then rinse with plenty
of water, and dry with a chamois leather. To clean the engine outer parts, use de-
greasing detergent, brushes and old cloths. Anodised or painted aluminium parts such
as forks, wheel rims, frame, footrests etc. should be washed using water and mild
soap. Using aggressive detergents may damage the surface treatment of these com-
ponents.
