(Playback system of Video signal processing system)
In an encode block, the inputted the PB video signal is converted into the component signal data and the
composite-encoded data, then output as the analog video output signals. In the 525/60 mode, setup
processing is also carried out in the encode block.
These output data is converted from digital to analog and output from each VIDEO OUTPUT connector
on the connector panel (CP-334 board) as an analog component signal and analog composite signal.
The analog composite output signal has three lines. Characters can be superimposed
OUTPUT COMPOSITE 3) of the lines.
The analog component output signal has only one line. No characters can be superimposed on the line.
In the encode block, the input PB video signal is also output to the SDI Encode Process block on the SDI-
41 board as the digital component signal so that it is used for the SDI output signal.
The digital component video signal for SDI output is multiplexed with 4-channel audio signals by the SDI
Encode Process block and converted from parallel to serial. The converted signal is then output from the
SDI OUTPUT connectors on the connector panel as the SDI signal.
The SDI output signal has three lines. Characters can be superimposed

The characters that are superimposed on the VIDEO OUTPUT COMPOSITE 3 and SDI OUTPUT 3
channels are the same.
Sync/video signal processing system
Reference internal signals for video and audio systems are produced on the VPR-47 board.
The inputted reference video signal from the REF VIDEO connector or the inputted video signal from the
analog video input connector (COMPOSITE or COMPONENT Y) is selected on the CP-334 board and
sent to the timing generation block on the VPR-47 board.
In the timing generation block, sync and burst signals are separated and extracted from the input video
signal.
Sync signals (HD, VD, and CF) are extracted from the SDI signal input to the SDI INPUT connector by
the SDI Decode Process block on the SDI-41 board.
On the VPR-47 board, reference internal signals, timing signals (HD, VD, FRAME, CF, GOP, and
AUDIO ID), and clocks (for video and audio) synchronized with this reference signal are produced based
on the extracted sync signals. These signals and clocks are sent to each board.
The reference signal (SV REF) for a servo system is also produced by the timing generation block on the
VPR-47 board and sent to the SS-83 board.

(CP-278, CP-301, CP-335, APR-40, AU-260, DPR-118, VR-223, and VR-224 Boards)
Recording system
The inputted analog audio signals (CH1 to CH4) from the AUDIO INPUT connectors (on the CP-278
board) are passed through four relay switches on the APR-40 board and A/D-converted into serial digital
audio data. The converted signals are then sent to the audio processing block.
Each analog audio signal is also level-controlled before passed through the relay switch, and emphasized
after passed through it.
Four relay switches are used to switch longitudinal audio signals (CH1 and CH2) and FM audio signals
(CH3 and CH4) in the Betacam PB mode and the analog audio signals (CH1 to CH4) input to the AUDIO
INPUT connectors.
