With the E-STOP pushbutton (15) at the
planer/thicknesser
the
switched-off immediately in any operat-
ing mode.
Undervoltage relay
An undervoltage relay trips in the event
of a voltage failure to prevent restarting
of the machine when the power is
restored. To restart, the black switch but-
ton (13) must be actuated.

6. Surface Planer Mode

6.1

Setup

Danger!
Before setting the machine up:
− Switch machine OFF.
− Unplug.
− Wait until machine has come to a
complete stop.
Flat belt change
For operation as planer the flat belt (16)
must be positioned as illustrated:

If this is not the case, position it as fol-
lows.
1.
Open the access door.
2.
Loosen lock lever (17) and lift motor
slightly with handle (18).
3.
Take the flat belt that is not required
off the motor pulley (19).
4.
Tuck the flat belts not required
behind the retaining springs (20) as
illustrated, so they do not interfere
with the drive belt on the pulleys.
5.
Place the cutterblock's flat belt
crosswise on the large diameter
(front) (19) motor pulley.

Caution!
The flat belt for the cutterblock
machine
is
must run crosswise, as illustrated.
Otherwise the cutterblock turns in the
wrong direction!
6.
Shift motor along the axis of the
motor shaft fully to the rear: The
large diameter motor pulley must be
in alignment with the cutterblock's
pulley.
7.
Tighten the flat belt by pushing the
motor downward with the handle
(18).
8.
Lock motor in position with the lock
lever (17).
9.
Close access door.
Work area preparation
Ensure the removal of all not required
objects from the work area:
1.
Saw blade and blade guard fully
retracted and covered by table
insert?
2.
Mitre fence dismounted?
3.
Cutter
mounted?

Cutter spindle fully retracted and
covered by table rings and insert?
Fence installation

Slide fence carrier (21) on the guide
rail (22) and secure with the clamp-
ing plate (23).

Cutterblock cover installation:
1.
Fasten the cutterblock's arm (24) to
the outfeed table.

Slide cutterblock guard extrusion
(25) in the seat on the arm of the
cutterblock cover and lock with
screw (26).
Dust collection attachment installa-
tion
1.
Place the dust chute (27) of the dust
collection attachment on the thick-
nesser bed (28). Lower thicknesser
bed, if necessary.

Secure suction port in place by rais-
ing the thicknesser bed.
3.
Connect a suitable dust collector to
the suction port.

Safety

Safety devices
Cutterblock guard
The cutterblock cover prevents the rotat-
ing cutterblock from being touched when
surface planing.
For effective protection the cutterblock
cover must always be adapted to the
workpiece.
Information for a safe operation
Risk of kickback!
Workpiece is caught by the
rotating cutterblock and thrown back
against the operator:
− Always use sharp cutter knives.
− If in doubt check workpiece for inclu-
sion of foreign objects (e.g. nails,
screws, lose knots).
