HEADING INDICATOR

WARNING: Do not rely on the accuracy of heading indications in the following
geographic areas (due to variations in the earth's magnetic field): North of 72° North
latitude at all longitudes; South of 70° South latitude at all longitudes; North of 65°
North latitude between longitude 75° W and 120° W. (Northern Canada); North of
70° North latitude between longitude 70° W and 128° W. (Northern Canada); North
of 70° North latitude between longitude 85° E and 114° E. (Northern Russia); South
of 55° South latitude between longitude 120° E and 165° E. (Region south of Australia
and New Zealand).
The current heading is displayed on a rotating compass card in a heading-up orientation
on the 'ADI' (if configured), 'HSI', and 'HSI Map' Pages. If heading data is unavailable, the
track derived from GPS data is displayed instead. Letters indicate the cardinal points and
numeric labels occur every 30°. Major tick marks are at 10° intervals and minor tick marks
at 5° intervals.
Adjusting the selected heading:
1) From the 'HSI' or 'HSI Map' Page, touch the HDG Button if it is not already highlighted.
Or:
From the 'ADI' Page, touch the Heading Datafield below the airspeed indicator.
2) Turn the Inner Knob.
Synchronizing the selected heading to the current heading:
Touch and hold the Heading Datafield or HDG Button.
Or:
1) From the 'HSI' or 'HSI Map' Page, touch the HDG Button if it is not already selected.
Or:
From the 'ADI' Page, touch the Heading Datafield below the airspeed indicator.
2) Push the Inner Knob.
