1.8 WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY (GARMIN CONNEXT)

The MFI has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. Connext allows for a wireless
connection between the MFI and a Personal Electronic Device (PED) running the Garmin Pilot
application and provides up-to-date information throughout the cockpit.
The following features are available on a PED through Garmin Pilot:
• GPS position, velocity, and time information
• Uncorrected barometric pressure altitude used by transponder and ADS-B
• ADS-B In traffic data
• FIS-B weather and flight information
• AHRS data from built-in sensor
• Magnetic heading
• Flight plan transfer (see the Navigation Section for details on transferring flight plans)

BLUETOOTH SETUP

The mobile device must be 'paired' with the system in order to use the various functions.
Pairing is accomplished once for each device. After the initial pairing, with 'Auto-Reconnect'
enabled, your PED will automatically reconnect with the MFI. The pairing operation is
completed from the mobile device and the Garmin Pilot application. For additional references,
see the device Bluetooth pairing instructions and the connection instructions in the Garmin
Pilot application.
