7. OPTION
7.1 IPU (IMAGE PROCESSING UNIT)

7.1.1 OVERVIEW

The IPU does the following.
Dynamic Threshold
This function automatically determines a suitable threshold value based on the
original, and converts the scanned image to binary data.
Auto Photo/Letter
This function automatically identifies the text portions of an original and the
photographic portions, and scans each in a suitable scan mode.
Document Size Detection
This function automatically detects the width of an original, and sends the
information to the host computer.
Section Area
This function selects an area within an original and sets scanning conditions for
that area.
