When a paper jam occurs, these components operate to stop copying as follows (reference-
Chapter 3—Jam Detection Circuit):
a) Normally the stud of the trip release lever is in the notch of the actuation trip lever, as
shown in Fig. 4121. In this case the reset button is held down but under spring tension.
b) Since the reset button is at its lower position, the actuator trip lever is pressing MS6A &
6B to their ON position and power is being supplied to the copier.
