Preparing to install drives
Before you install an additional:
•
Drive (of any type), you may need to purchase
power and signal cables.
•
Hard disk, see "Installing additional drives" on page
95.
•
Diskette, tape, or CD-ROM drive, you may need to
remove a bay panel from the system unit cover
before you replace the cover. (Bay panels are
attached to the front of the system unit cover.)
Removing the panel allows you to access the drive
from the front of the system unit, once it is installed
and the system unit cover has been replaced. See
the instructions and picture on page 94 to remove
the panel.
Deciding which drive bay to use
Use the following table to help you determine where to
install your drive.
You can install a drive in any empty bay in which
