Table 9: Troubleshooting: Mwave multimedia problems
If the problem is:
You don't hear sound from the audio
application when you start the modem.
You can't play or record messages when a
speaker phone application is running.
You can't use Windows applications, play
games, telegame, or use the modem in a DOS
box under OS/2 Warp.
The option for an installed Mwave card does
not appear in the Setup Utility.
You don't hear sound and the modem doesn't
work after you change the I/O address jumpers
on the Mwave card.
Note: If any of these problems continue after taking the actions listed, check your A Guide to HelpWare and All the Extras folder
for information on obtaining service.
Here's what to do:
Set the modem to operate at a lower transfer rate. See "Mwave Help" in the
Mwave group.
Close the speaker phone application when you want to play or record
messages.
Close all DOS boxes running under OS/2 Warp, then re-open a DOS box.
Mwave DOS functions are available only in the first DOS box you open under
OS/2 Warp.
1. If you removed the adapter cards from your system unit, make sure you re-
installed the Mwave card.
2. If the Mwave card is installed properly, enter the Setup Utility and press F5
from the Main Menu to reload the factory settings.
Make sure the I/O adapter settings in the Mwave Hardware Configuration utility
match the jumper settings on the Mwave adapter card. For instructions on
changing Mwave adapter card settings, see "Changing modem addresses for
the Mwave adapter card" on page 32.
