Loading and ejecting disc media
The drive is located on the front panel of the Digital
Media Workstation.
To load a disc media
Proceed as follows.

Power the Main Unit on.
For details, see page 3-10.

Press the tray open/close button.
The disc tray opens.

Place a disc gently on the tray with the printed
side up.

Press the tray open/close button.
The disc tray closes.
Note
If the spinning noise of the drive seems louder than
normal after you load a disc, eject the disc and load
it again.
To eject a disc media

Press the tray open/close button.
The disc tray opens.

Remove the disc and press the tray open/close
button.
The disc tray closes.
Note
The active indicator lights while the drive is accessing

data on a disc. The tray open/close button does not
function while the indicator is lit.

To open the disc tray manually
If the disc tray does not open when you press the tray
open/close button, you can open it manually with the
following procedure.

Power the Main Unit off.
For details, see page 3-12.

Insert a pin about 1.2 mm in diameter and 100 mm
long into the tray eject hole. Press the pin slowly
and steadily until the disc tray opens.

Grasp the disc tray and pull it out.

Remove the disc from the disc tray and push the
tray in to close it.
The disc tray closes.
Notes
• Do not insert easily breakable objects such as
toothpicks or plastic pins into the tray eject hole.
• Contact your Sony service representative if you
cannot open the disc tray with the above procedure.
