Quick-defrost programme (
With this special defrost programme, the microwave starts at a high power setting, which is
then gradually reduced in order to ensure that the core of the frozen food is also defrosted.
For delicate food, the setting 'Low' (see table 'Power settings / Overview') is recommended.
This setting ensures that delicate food is defrosted slowly and evenly. The defrosting time
must be set in the display.
For defrosting raw or previously cooked food, a defrosting time of approximately 5 minutes
for each 450g is appropriate, e.g. it should take about 5 minutes to defrost 450g of frozen
spaghetti sauce. The defrosting time can be pre-set to a maximum of 45 minutes.
Helpful notes:
- The defrosting process should be interrupted at regular intervals and those food portions
already defrosted should be taken out; this is to ensure that food already defrosted will
not take away heat from food that still requires defrosting.
- Should the food not be completely defrosted after the pre-set defrosting time has
elapsed, it is advisable to limit any further defrosting times to 1-minute periods until the
food is fully defrosted.
- Food stored in plastic containers or wrapped in plastic should be left standing for a while
after it has been taken from the freezer. Wait until the food can be easily detached from
the plastic, before it is put into the oven inside a container suitable for use with
microwave ovens.

programmes as well as the combination of the programmes may be selected. Any quick-
defrosting programme must of course run before any cooking programme can be started.
