12.10 What is LBS?
LBS stands for Location Based Services that are value-added services provided by combining
the mobile communications network and satellite positioning system. This provides users with
services, such as weather, GPS, and shopping.
12.11 Does LBS use the data traffic?
After you enable LBS, your phone will load map data using data traffic when running a
location based app. It is recommended you download an offline map and regularly update it
using a Wi-Fi network before using its software. That will help minimize LBS data traffic
usage.
12.12 What can I do if I see a "Location service is
unavailable" notification?
1. Please make sure mobile data is turned on and check if your Wi-Fi network is working
properly.
2. Go to Settings > Location and make sure Location is enabled. Be sure to turn on this
function.
3. If you continue to have problems, visit an authorized service center for assistance.
12.13 What should I do if I see a "Location service error"
notification?
1. Go to Settings > Location and make sure location services are enabled.
2. Please make sure mobile data is working properly or that Wi-Fi is connected and working
properly. If you don't have a network connection you will not be able to retrieve location data
from the appropriate servers.
3. When inside or underground, the GPS signal reception will be affected. Please move outside
and try again.
4. If you follow the recommendations above and continue to have problems, please restart your
phone and try again.
12.14 What is GPS?
GPS stands for Global Positioning System which uses satellites for positioning and navigation
globally.
