S h ift s e le c to r lever to the desired
d rivin g p o sitio n o n ly w hen the
en g ine is id lin g and the service
b ra ke is ap plied. Do not release the
b ra ke b e fore m oving off. The
v e h ic le may o th e rw ise s ta rt cre e p ­
ing w hen the s e le c to r lever is in
a d riv in g p o sitio n.

P artial th ro ttle = e a rly up shifting
= norm al a c c e le ra tio n .
Full th ro ttle = reta rde d up sh ifting
= m axim um a c c e le ra tio n .
D epressing the a c c e le ra to r beyond
fu ll th ro ttle to kickdow n p o sition
m eans d o w n s h iftin g to the next
low e r g ea r and th u s m axim um
a c c e le ra tio n . If you ease up on the
a c c e le ra to r after having attained
the d e sired speed, th e transm ission
w ill s h ift up again.
