Upgrade software for the 8BSI card is downloaded to your system via a console terminal. The con-
sole terminal can be an ASCII terminal such as a VT-100 or VT-220, or a PC installed with a ter-
minal emulation program (such as Windows HyperTerminal).
Connecting the Console Terminal
When you connect the 8BSI card to the console terminal, use a console cable with 9-pin RS-232C
connectors as shown below.
Connect one end of the console cable to the RS-232C connector of the 8BSI card and connect the
other end to a serial port on the console terminal, as shown below.
