Raid Controller

Type
A Promise FASTTRAK 100 TX2 RAID Controller built in for EIDE drives.
Structure
The system is configured as RAID 1 (data is distributed on two hard disks.). The
hard disks are each operated on an EIDE bus as masters. This way the system
can continue to operate in a bus in the event of cable problems and the rack at-
tains a high degree of error tolerance.
The RAID Controller is built in slot number 5 of the module.
Operating Instructions
You will find instructions on how to operate the RAID system on the supplied ma-
nual on RAID Controller.
When using removable racks, faulty hard disks can be replaced during operation in
the event of an error. The new disk is synchronized in the background. This can
last a while (up to hours) depending on the size of the hard disks and the system
performance.
The safe system state RAID 1 is reached again only after the successful
completion of synchronization.
Reinstalling the Software
Please follow the instructions on the manual or the electronic manual supplied on
the CD on RAID Controller.
Instructions on Windows NT
