Network clock pulse of the communication device (DCE) as valid recognized. Both
communication converters have synchronized themselves.
Life Contact for G.703.1: In this interface type, the following conditions must be fulfilled:
Power-Fail signal is inactive (internal power supply unit is in proper condition).
RESET signal is inactive (internal logic is in proper condition).
G.703.1 Received data are present and correspond to the standardized pulse mask.
Power supply: The auxiliary voltage must be applied at the 2-pole screw terminal (DC
24 V – 250 V, AC110 V – 230 V). The permissible values and tolerances can be found in
the Technical Data (Page 49).
Earthing: The earthing connection lying on the right above has to be connected with the
protection conductor (earth). Use a ground loop wire with a big cross section, see period
connection notes.

Connection Instructions

Screw terminals of the terminal blocks
The terminal screws are slotted screws that can be turned with a 0.3 mm x 3.5 mm or
0.6 mm x 3.5 mm screwdriver.
Wire cross-section: 2.5 mm
Wire cross-section with using lugs: 1.5 mm
Permissible tightening torque at the terminal screw: 0.4 Nm to 0.5 Nm (3.5 lb.in.
to 4.2 lb.in.)

Strip the connecting wires to a length of 6 mm, insert them into the screw terminals as far as
they will go in, and secure them so that they will not slip out while tightening the screw. After
tightening the screws, verify that the wires to the terminals are tightly connected.
