When the required tool has been found, the "T word is valid" bit is reset at the interface by the
tool management. Depending on the magazine in which the tool has been found, either the
"Position magazine/turret" bit (bit 71.2 in the channel DB) or the "Position chained magazine"
bit (bit 71.8 in the channel DB) is set. This signal enables the user to start function block FB
133 "Direction selection"(see Section 10, Block Description). As a result, the optimum angle of
rotation is determined for the magazine and the rotational direction output via block
parameters.
When the set position is reached, the tool is inserted within the L06 tool-changing cycle. The
user has to call FB 128 "Transfer" to transfer the data from the magazine location DW to a
data word of the tool buffer (feeder, spindle, etc.). When assigning input parameter "SP" (tool
transfer in the spindle), the D numbers listed in the reference list are transferred to the R
parameters R 101 to R 109 (see Section 5, Configuring). The D number which is activated by
the tool-changing cycle is assigned to the first cutting edge. If the next cutting edge is to be
used, the value of the corresponding R parameter must be transferred:
D = R 10x
where x = number of next cutting edge (e.g. R 102 for the 2nd cutting edge).
