Wear heavy duty work gloves to
avoid accidental cuts from the Saw
Blade (86).
Raise the Body Frame (126) to its
full vertical position, making sure
to lock the Frame in place with the
Support Plate (31). (See Figure S.)
Release Saw Blade (86) tension by
turning the Blade Tension Adjusting
Knob (125). (See Figure Z.)
Open the Blade Back Safety Cover
(60). Then slip the old Saw Blade
(86) off the Idler Wheel (64), Idler
Drive Wheel (83), and Blade Guide
Bearing (71) assemblies.
(See Figure Z.)
Place the new Saw Blade (86)
between each of the Blade Guide
Bearing (71) assemblies, around
the Idler Wheel (64) and Idler Drive
Wheel (83). IMpOrTANT: The
teeth of the Saw Blade MUST be
pointing downward toward the Mo-
tor. (See Figure Z.)
NOTE: The Bandsaw is equipped
with a 64-1/2" diameter, .025" thick,
1/2" wide, 14 teeth per inch Saw
Blade (86). The machine will also
accept Blades in 4, 6, 8, and 10
tooth sizes. The choice of blade
pitch is determined by the thickness
of the material to be cut. The thin-
ner the workpiece, the more teeth
is recommended. A minimum of 3
teeth should engage the workpiece
at all times for proper cutting.CAU-
TION! If the teeth of the Saw Blade
are so far apart that they straddle
the workpiece, severe damage to
the workpiece and/or Saw Blade
will result. (See Figure Z.)
Tighten the tension on the new
Saw Blade (86) by turning the
SKU 66435

V-BELT MAINTENANCE: The Band-
saw uses a type 3V-270 V-Belt. To
replace the V-Belt:
Loosen the Screw (102) and move
the Motor (94) forward to release
tension on the V-Belt. Open the
Upper Pulley Cover (92). Remove
the old V-Belt from the Worm Gear
Pulley (115) and Motor Pulley (93).
(See Figures M and N.)
Install the new V-Belt on the Worm
Gear Pulley (115) and Motor Pulley
(93) according to the speed at which
you wish the Bandsaw to run.
(See Figure O.)
Move the Motor (94) backwards to
tighten the tension on the V-Belt.
Then, retighten the Screw (102) to
secure the Motor in place.
