Characteristics of USB devices
In order to keep the initialisation period to

a minimum, it is recommended to store
only music data on a USB device.
Up to 8 directory levels with up to 1000
R
tracks per directory are supported.
Do not use USB extension leads or adapt-
R
ers. These may impair functionality.
A background search of the USB device is
R
performed and any playlists found are
shown in a separate category in addition to
the folders. Initialisation of larger USB
mass storage devices containing a high
number of files may take several minutes.

DRM (Digital Rights Management) protec-
ted files are not supported by the Media
Interface.
Connecting external devices
To connect external devices to the Media
Interface, device-specific adapter cables are
required. These are included in the Media
Interface scope of delivery.

The connection jacks are located in the glove
compartment.
Never connect more than one device. Other-
wise, you will be unable to use the external
equipment. Please consult a Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre for further information.

Do not leave external devices in the vehi-
cle as extreme temperatures (e.g. direct
sunlight or extremely low outside temper-
atures) could cause them to malfunction
(see the operating instructions of the
respective device). Mercedes-Benz
accepts no liability for damage to external
devices.
