5. Bobbin thread scissors

5.1 Setting the closing way

The supporting plate 1 must have tight fit and should move without any
play. If necessary to establish this condition, remove or add the
decimal discs 2 (part no.: 1001 001153 ).
Set the thread puller 3 so that it is level with the thread rest 4. In no
case should the thread puller 3 stand under the thread rest 4 because
otherwise the supporting plate 1 would be lifted and the knives might
touch each other.
When replacing the knives ensure that the blade of the left knife is a
bit lower than the blade of the right knife.
Set the spring sheet of the thread rest so that a very low pressure is
exerted to hold the thread on the thread rest.

Rule:
With the bobbin thread scissors being closed, the overlapping of the
cutting edges should amount to
about 1 mm.
Setting:
Turn on the machine and call up the programme "F - 020" .
Lift the sewing basket by means of the programme (the bobbin
thread scissors will be closed) and check the Rule.
Dismount carefully the throat plate. Ensure that the knife parts do
not move.
If required, loosen the screw 5 and turn the eccentric 6 according
to the Rule.
