Insert a recordable MD.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly to
select "TAPE" or "VIDEO".

* To select "DVD", press FUNCTION
repeatedly to select "VIDEO" then press
MENU/NO and press ENTER/YES. The
maximum level of the signals output by a
DVD player is different from that of other
analog components, so always be certain to
switch to "DVD" when listening to sound
from a DVD player.

Furthermore, to change back to "VIDEO"
when changing the connected component
from the DVD player to a VCR or other
such component, press FUNCTION
repeatedly to select "DVD", then press
MENU/NO and press ENTER/YES.
Failure to change the FUNCTION setting
before using the VCR or other such
component may result in malfunction.

Press REC MODE repeatedly until
"1DISC" appears.
The MD whose MD 1 – 5 button is lit
green is recorded.
To record in monaural format, select
"MONO".

Press REC.
The MD deck stands by for recording.

Press ·P for the MD.
Recording starts.

Play the desired sound source.
To stop recording
Press p for the MD.

Tip
You can adjust the recording level to the desired
volume after performing step 4. (See page 48.)
To record with the tape deck
Do the procedure in "Listening to the sound of
connected A/V components" (see page 79) to listen
to the broadcast, then start recording with the tape
deck.
Before pulling out the power cord
MD recording is completed when the MD Table of
Contents (TOC) is updated. The TOC is updated
when you eject the MD or press 1/u (power) and
turn off the system. Do not pull out the power cord
before updating the TOC (while "TOC" is lit) or
while updating the TOC (while "TOC" is flashing)
to ensure the complete recording.
