SECTION 5: ELECTRICAL CHECKS

Refer to the key below when consulting this chapter:
Ar= orange
Az= light blue
B= blue
Bi= white
G= yellow
Gr= grey
M= brown
N= black
R= red
R= pink
V= green
Vi= purple
CHECK 1. RECHARGE VOLTAGE TEST
Check the electrolyte level
Check the battery voltage
Start the engine and take it up to 4000 rpm
Switch the light switch to dipped beam
test the DC voltage between the battery terminals with a tester
STANDARD VOLTAGE: 13 – 15 VOLTS
CHECK 2. ALTERNATOR CHECK
Disconnect the brown connector from the regulator
Start the engine and take it up to 4000 rpm
The voltage, measured as shown in the figure, must be not
less 60 Volts
The standard resistance of the generator coil is 0.1 – 1
Ohms.
Between cables and ground: infinite
