Discharge Time, Run Time
This refers to the amount of time a battery can provide power to a system before it
discharges fully. It is a function of the load that receives power from the battery.
The average system load of the VX 680 terminal is 300 mAh at 7.2V. The typical

substantially when power management techniques are used.
Discharging
Refers to the process of converting the chemical energy of a battery into electrical
energy, and the transfer of the electrical energy into a load.
Fuel Gauge
This is an electronic terminal inside the battery pack that monitors the flow of
current into and out of the cells to accurately track the state of charge. This
terminal allows accurate measurement of the battery status.
Self-Discharge Rate
The amount by which the charge of the battery is reduced without providing any
current to an external terminal or load.
Shelf-Life
The length of storage under specified conditions that a battery can endure while
retaining the ability to give a satisfactory performance upon full charge.
NOTE
The shelf life of the VX 680 battery pack is 6 months at 30% initial charge.
Smart Battery
Refers to a battery with a internal circuit that enables communication between the
battery and the charging circuit, or between the battery and the host system or
user.
Voltage
This is the unit of potential power or electric pressure, which is the force that
causes current to flow through an electric conductor. It is measured in volts.
