Split Rear Bench Seat
The rear seat can be folded to
increase the cargo area. The left,
right or both sections may be
folded according to need.
1. The respective rear door must
be opened so that the backrest
locking mechanism is released.
Open both rear doors if both
sections are to be folded.
2. Slip seat belt webbing behind
belt retainer (1) and move
buckle latch plate upward to
belt outlet.
3. Slip fingers into recess (2) and
lift seat cushion to a vertical
50
position (move front seat for
ward a little, if necessary).
4. Pull head restraint up to its
highest position. Depress the
release button (3) until it
engages and pull out the head
restraint.
5. Insert head restraint into the
openings provided in the seat
cushion.
6. Fold backrest forward.
If the vehicle is equipped with
the retractable partition net and
luggage cover, fold the right
section first and then the left
section. If only the left section
is to be folded, then the lug
gage cover unit must be re
moved first (see Luggage
Cover in Index).
Note:
Do not interchange the front head
restraints with the rear head re
straints.
Warning!
Do not drive the vehicle with
out head restraints. Always
reinstall head restraints when
returning cushions to seating
use. Head restraints help re
duce injuries should an acci
dent occur.
