4.2.1 Gas connections and breathers

The Q2 is equipped with several gas connections with different functions. There are two gas inlets,
and two gas outlets. Two breathers are used for atmosphere pressure compensation between
inside and outside the device. The interface of the gas ports is always a tube fitting with 6 mm,
¼ " . They are always equipped by Elster, in the standard version Swagelok connectors are used.
The required tubing should be permanently attached. An overview of all gas connections and
breathers is given below:

There is an internal particle filter behind the tube fitting for the process gas. The right inlet is only
connected to the operational calibration gas cylinder. The breathers must not be closed or blocked
e.g. by water, ice, insects, condensation, dirt or something else, or the pressure compensation
will be imperiled.
WARNING:
DO NOT CONNECT THE MAIN BREATHER TO OTHER GAS VENTS!
PRORECT BREATHERS AGAINST ANY KIND OF RESTRICTION

Notes
The inlet pressure of the process gas or verification gas must
be between 0.15 MPa and 0.5 MPa (gauge).
The inlet pressure of the operational calibration gas must be
0.2 MPa (gauge) ±0.05 MPa.
Max. 300 l/h, tube fitting 6 mm or ¼"; inner tube diameter must
be 4 mm at least
Default 30 l/h, maximum 60 l/h; tube fitting 6 mm or ¼"; inner
tube diameter must be 4 mm at least
If an optional vent tube is connected via the ¼" NPT thread it
must have a minimum ID of 8mm.
A complete separate tubing in required.
!Observe the length specifications in section 2.4!
Vent tubing is not required and not possible
