Fuel Reserve Warning Lamp
The fuel reserve warning lamp should
come on when the key is turned to
steering lock position 2, and should go
out after the engine is running.
If the warning lamp stays on after the
engine starts, or comes on while driv
ing, it indicates that the fuel level is
down to the reserve quantity of 6.0 I
(1.6 US gal).
Low Windshield and Headlamp
Washer Fluid Level Warning Lamp
The warning lamp comes on with the
key in steering lock position 2 and
should go out when the engine is
running.
If the warning lamp comes on with the
engine running, the level of the reser
voir has dropped to
of the total vol
1/4
ume. The reservoir should be refilled
with MB Windshield Washer Concen
trate " S" and water (or commercially
available premixed windshield washer
solvent/antifreeze, depending on am
bient temperature - see page 50) at
the next opportunity. The reservoir for
the windshield and headlamp washer
systems is located in the engine com
partment (see page 124).
Outside Tem perature Indicator
The temperature sensor is located in
the front bumper area. Due to its loca
tion, the sensor can be affected by
road or engine heat during idling or
slow driving. This means that the ac
curacy of the displayed temperature
can only be verified by comparison to
a thermometer placed next to the sen
sor, not by comparison to external dis
plays (e.g. bank signs, etc.).
Adaptation to ambient temperature
takes place in steps and depends on
the prevailing driving conditions
(stop-and-go or moderate, constant
driving) and amount of temperature
change.
Warning!
The outside temperature indicator
is not designed to serve as an
Ice-Warning-Device and is there
fore unsuitable for that purpose.
Indicated temperatures just above
freezing point do not guarantee
that the road surface is free of ice.
