Theft Prevention

This vehicle com plies with the Federal
M otor Vehicle Theft Prevention Stan­
dard (49 CFR Part 541). Engine, trans­
mission and certain body parts (see
illustration) are labeled at the factory,
the labels show the VIN-num ber of
this vehicle.
Spare parts are similarly labeled at the
factory in a different location. The
labels show the letter R (for replace­
ment) instead of the VIN-number.
Note:
Do not remove these labels. These
labels are intended for parts identifi­
cation in case of theft. When replac­
ing parts subject to labeling, please
make sure that the parts you receive
are labeled properly. This is especially
im portant when w ork is perform ed
outside of the United States.
