Fuel Reserve Warning Lamp

The fuel reserve warning lamp will
come on when the key is turned to
steering lock position 2, and will go
out after the engine is running.
If the warning lamp stays on after the
engine starts, or com es on while driv­
ing, it indicates that the fuel level is
down to the reserve quantity (12.5 I
[3.3 US gal]).

Low Windshield and Headlamp

Washer Fluid Level Indicator Lamp

The indicator lamp com es on with the
key in steering lock position 2 and
should go out when the engine is run­
ning.
If it comes on with the engine running,
the level of the reservoir has dropped
to about 1 /4 of the total volume and
should be filled again with washer
fluid to which about 3 capfuls of MB
auto-sham poo have been added.

Exterior Light Failure Indicator Lamp

The light failure indicator com es on
with the key in steering lock posi­
tion 2 and will go out when the engine
starts.
If it com es on with the engine running,
it indicates a light failure.
If an exterior light fails, the indicator
will come on only when that light is
switched on.
If a brake o r turn signal light fails, the
light failure indicator will com e on
when applying the brake or actuating
the turn signal and stay on until the
engine is turned off.

Outside Temperature Indicator

The tem perature sensor is attached
to the fro n t bum per behind the
license plate base plate. Due to its
location, the sensor can be affected
by road or engine heat during idling or
slow driving. This means that the
accuracy of the displayed tem pera­
ture can only be verified by com pari­
son to a therm om eter located next to
the sensor, not by com parison to
external displays (i.e., bank signs,
etc.).
