Difference between loop recording and
normal recording
When loop recording is executed, a file is created in the
loop recording area specified on the Loop tab of the
Storage Screen, and AV data is saved to the file. After the
whole loop recording area is consumed, the file with the
oldest creation date is deleted and the recording continues
in the vacated space.
Conversely, when files are received over the network or
during normal recording (as opposed to loop recording),
AV data is stored in the general recording area not
assigned as the loop recording area.
The general recording area and loop recording area are
managed separately. Accordingly, files received over the
network are saved in the general recording area and are not
deleted automatically by loop recording mode.
If the entire storage capacity is assigned to the loop
recording area, there is no general recording area
remaining, which means that files cannot be received over
the network and normal recording (as opposed to loop
recording) cannot be performed.
