Using the desktop software

This chapter explains how to use the desktop software to maximize your
handheld's functionality.
The desktop software can synchronize contacts, appointments, memos, and tasks
between your handheld and desktop. You can also back up any important
information from your handheld to your desktop, edit the Address Book and
AutoText files, restore data to your handheld, and load new applications.
This chapter provides basic instructions for using the desktop software and its
tools. You can find more detailed information in the online Help associated with
each tool. In any window, select Help to view procedures.
Integration with
enterprise email
account
Backing up files from your handheld to
your desktop
Use the Backup and Restore tool to save handheld files to your computer or to
restore previously saved files to your handheld. Additionally, you can use the tool
to customize the Address Book and AutoText files on your desktop. You can create

account, the Redirector Settings tool is available. With this tool, you
can generate an encryption key and configure email redirection
settings.
If the desktop software is integrated with an enterprise email account,
