Why did I have two email messages on my handheld before I turned on the
radio?
These email messages are previously loaded on your handheld and contain
information to help you learn about your handheld when you first receive it. As
soon as you turn on the radio, a third email message should arrive, indicating that
the handheld is registered on the wireless network.
Why are my email and SMS messages not being sent?
A clock icon beside the message header on the Messages screen indicates that the
message has not been sent.
Ensure that your handheld's radio has been turned on (on the Home
screen, click the Turn Wireless On icon), and ensure that you are within
an area of sufficient wireless coverage. You can send and receive email
messages if GPRS appears below the wireless coverage indicator. You can
send and receive SMS messages if GPRS or GSM appears below the
wireless coverage indicator. Refer to "Network status icons" on page 59
for more information on the wireless coverage indicator.
Check the Network screen to determine whether your handheld has been
activated on the network.
Try resending your message. As long as a clock icon appears beside the
message when you resend it, another attempt is made to transmit the
original message. Refer to the online Handheld User Guide for detailed
information on resending messages.
What should I do if an email message is returned?
A returned message will have an "x" beside it on the Messages screen.
Try resending the message. If you still receive an "x," open the email
message and scroll to the top of it. The Message Status field indicates why
the email message was returned. Follow the instructions provided.
Why am I not being notified when new items arrive, even though I have set
the handheld to notify me?
Ensure that the volume setting of your selected notification profile is set to
either Low, Medium, High, or Escalating, rather than Mute. If the volume is
set to Mute, the tone will not sound when new messages arrive.
