Note
If the Address Book entry for your recipient contains multiple phone
numbers, you will be prompted to select the one to which the SMS message
should be sent. Click the number that you want to use.

Type your message. As you type, the number of characters you have entered
will appear in the top right corner of the screen. SMS messages are limited to
160 characters.
Note
If you type more characters than the message can accommodate, a Field
Full message appears. Press

After you have composed your message, click the trackwheel to view the
menu. Click Send. You return to the Messages screen.
If you are in an area of wireless coverage sufficient for sending SMS messages, a
check mark will appear beside the message within a short period of time. This icon
indicates that your message was transmitted successfully. (You can send SMS
messages if GPRS or GSM appears below the wireless coverage indicator and one
or more bars appear beside the wireless coverage indicator.)
Note
You can use the handheld's advanced SMS messaging features, such as
AutoText entries and sending SMS messages to one-time recipients. Refer
to the Handheld User Guide for more information.

Using AutoText

You can increase how quickly you compose email and SMS messages by using the
handheld's AutoText function. By configuring the default AutoText entries and
adding new entries that meet your specific needs, you can automatically compose
