If you configure Microsoft Outlook to empty the Deleted Items folder on exit,
configure the desktop software to synchronize moves and deletes within
Exchange
folders (as set in the Configure email window) and set your handheld to
delete messages from the handheld and desktop during email
reconciliation, any messages that were deleted in Outlook will not be
deleted on your handheld during the next email reconciliation. Since the
Deleted Items folder was emptied when you last exited the program, your
handheld will not be able to find the messages and will not recognize that
they were deleted.

Configuring email redirection settings

You can configure email redirection settings with the Redirector Settings tool.
Lotus
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server integrates with the Lotus Domino Server
to redirect email from your desktop to your handheld, based on how you

Microsoft
If you are running the BlackBerry Desktop Redirector, it will deliver email
messages from your desktop to your handheld, based on how you

configure the settings in the Redirector Settings tool. Your computer must
remain turned on at all times and the desktop redirector program must be
running for email messages to be sent to your handheld. Closing the
Redirector Status window or turning off your computer will stop email
redirection.
If you use the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to redirect email messages, the
desktop redirector does not have to be running for your email messages to
be redirected. Email messages are forwarded to your handheld based on
how you have configured the settings in the Redirector Settings tool.
To configure email redirection settings
1.
Insert your handheld in the cradle. If a password is enabled on your handheld,
you must type it before you can connect to your desktop. In the BlackBerry
Desktop Manager, double-click the Redirector Settings icon. The Redirector
Settings window appears with General, Filters, Security, and Advanced tabs.

On the General tab, you can set your auto signature, turn off email redirection
and select options for how your handheld behaves in the cradle.
