Survey of ignition components
Notes:
♦ Only the components specifically relating to
the ignition system are dealt with here. For
other components of the fuel injection and
ignition system ⇒ Repair Group 24.
♦ The control unit for the fuel injection and
ignition system is equipped with self-
diagnosis.
♦ Components marked with * are tested by self-
diagnosis ⇒ page 01-4, Interrogating fault
memory.
♦ A voltage of at least 11.5 V is required for
proper operation of the electrical compo-
nents.
♦ When carrying out certain tests it is possible
that the control unit detects a fault and stores
it. For this reason, interrogate the fault
memory and erase it if necessary after
completing all the tests and repair work
